Cubano Monte Cristo with Garlic Honey
This mashup between the classic Cuban sandwich and the monte cristo is fabulous. Ham, pulled pork, Swiss cheese, and pickles are sandwiched between french toast batter soaked bread, spread with tangy dijon mustard and drizzled with kicked up garlic honey.
Serves 4
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, whisk together batter ingredients until combined. Keep chilled until ready to cook.
- Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Dip bread slices into batter, and place on griddle. Cook one side until golden, flip, and spread with dijon. Top with ham, pork, swiss, and pickles. Top with other bread slice, and continue to cook until golden brown. Repeat for remaining bread slices.
- In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together honey, hot sauce, and garlic until blended.
- Drizzle sandwiches with garlic honey, and sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
