Miami’s fast-growing padel and pickleball scene is about to get a major boost. On March 15, Eko Padel & Pickle will open a 20,000-square-foot indoor sports facility at Dolphin Mall, marking the shopping center’s first padel and pickleball club.

The new venue, located near the mall’s main entrance at 11401 N.W. 12th Street, replaces the former CineBistro theater and introduces a more accessible model for racket sports in South Florida. Unlike many private clubs, Eko Padel & Pickle will be open to the public with no initiation fees, making it one of the most inclusive facilities in the region.

The club will feature three indoor padel courts and three indoor pickleball courts, along with a small open-air café designed for socializing before and after matches. The concept reflects a broader trend in Miami toward lifestyle-driven sports venues that combine fitness, community, and entertainment.

Backing the project is a group of investors that includes former Carolina Panthers safety Tre Boston, adding star power and credibility to the brand. The operator also brings international experience, having previously run padel clubs in Colombia and Bolivia.

Dolphin Mall, owned by Taubman Realty Group and part of Simon Property Group, is one of South Florida’s most visited shopping destinations, with more than 240 stores and millions of annual visitors. The addition of Eko Padel & Pickle aligns with the mall’s strategy of diversifying beyond traditional retail into entertainment and experiential uses.

Padel, in particular, has surged in popularity across Miami, supported by high-profile tournaments like the Reserve Cup and prominent local investors. Pickleball’s nationwide boom has only accelerated demand for indoor, weather-proof courts.

Eko Padel & Pickle’s arrival at Dolphin Mall highlights how Miami continues to evolve as a hub for emerging sports — blending retail, recreation, and community in one location.

As Miami’s sports culture expands, projects like this show that the next wave of development isn’t just about buildings — it’s about experiences.
